San Agustin

San Agustin - Gran CanariaSan Agustin is a quiet, residential area, just in front of Playa del Inglés. Behind the jagged coastline is a walking trail which offers a panoramic view of the surroundings and from where you can walk to Playa del Ingles. Here you will also find the black lava beach of Las Burras and the sandy beach of San Agustin, a casino, restaurants, and the largest thalassotherapy center in Europe. Distance from the airport: 28 km

San Fernando

San Fernando - Gran CanariaSan Fernando is the Spanish and German quarter. It´s situated at the height of Playa del Ingles but more towards the interior. Not recommended as a base for your holiday but a good place to do shopping or a good (and cheap) coffee and sandwich. There is a good small (German) Bistro: Horst and Marianne (Facebookpage)

Sonneland

SonnenlandA somewhat elevated residential area of ​​bungalows and larger houses. The tall palm trees stabbing out above the buildings. The streetview is unfortunately characterized by the many parked cars.

 

El Tablero

El TableroEl Tablero is on the other side of the highway. In El Tablero live mostly Spaniards. It is a real Spanish village with all facilities / stores you as a tourist maybe will not immediately seek but which the permanent resident can do it from the feet. It's like having San Fernando.

 

Pasito Blanco

Pasito BlancoPasito Blanco is a small village around a marina. Partially situated on a mountainside, nice and picturesque. Closed with a barrier, only accessible by car for residents and holiday guests. Here you can find some beautiful holiday villas, but also not cheap. Distance from the airport: 40 km.

 

El Salobre

El SalobreSalobre is partly a spanish quarter and the other part consists of Luxury villas on the beautiful golf course Salobre Golf. Located on the other side of the highway at Meloneras. Beautiful and luxurious holiday villas and hotels of wich many are overlooking the golf course.

 

Arguineguin, Patalavaca

ArguineguinArguineguin is a lovely, traditional fishing village located between the busier Playa del Inglés and Puerto Rico. In winter, mostly inhabited by Scandinavians. You will find a small beach and several shops, restaurants and bars. Patalavaca lies against Arguineguin. Distance from the airport: 44 km.

Anfi del Mar

Anfi Del MarAnfi del Mar is a big timeshare complex located in Arguineguin / Patalavaca, Gran Canaria. It is not a village or locality. You can walk to Arguineguin on the boulevard. Mostly Scandinavian tourists settle here every year to enjoy the luxury and the beautiful weather.

 

Playa de Amadores

Playa de AmadoresAt Playa de Amadores, you can sunbathe on one of the most beautiful beaches of Gran Canaria. This beautiful beach was artificially constructed with fine sand from the Atlantic Ocean. There are a lot of shops and restaurants right on the beach. There is a walking path to Puerto Rico which is about 2 km from Amadores. There are some beautiful big hotels and apartment complexes overlooking Amadores beach. Distance from the airport: 53 km.

Playa del Cura

Playa del CuraPlaya del Cura is an urbanization along the coast in the middle of Amadores and Puerto de Mogan. It consists of tourist apartments build up to the hills. Playa del Cura has a supermarket, some restaurants and a Farmacy. There is a little beach with grey sand.

 

Tauro / Anfi Tauro / Playa de Tauro

TauroTauro is a villa quarter next to a fancy Golf course. This golf course is owned by the big timeshare company Anfi. It has its own hotels, villas and bungalows next to the course. More inland there is a area of country houses / villas mostly owned by Norwegians.
Playa de Tauro is a beach that consists out of rocks and stones. There is a very good fish restaurant called Vista Mar which is well known for it´s Gambas al Ajillo (shrimps in garlic oil). On sunday evenings there are open jam sessions at the beach.
